PALM VALLEY GOLF CLUB
Las Vegas Golf Course Review/Preview 4/11/04 -- Photos updated May, 2006
Palm Valley Golf Club in Summerlin (North Las Vegas) is one of three 18-hole golf courses that form the Sun
City golf complex, with the others being Highland Falls and the executive layout - Eagle Crest. Unlike the
Highland Falls course, Palm Valley is layed out over a mildly rolling terrain, with little elevation changes. Similar
traits include fine conditioning of the fairways, greens and sand traps throughout the course, along with careful
landscaping. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed along the fairways and the putting surfaces, which are
large in design and mildly undulating. Like the Highland Falls course - Palm Valley also provides incredibly spectacular views of the mountains in the distance.
Each Sun City course features its own driving range and practice green. The clubhouse at Palm Valley is
situated greenside with a beautiful lake in full view. A snack shop, lounge and pro shop are on property, along
with banquet/outing facilities. An abundance of palm trees dot the landscape, hence the course's name.
With 4 sets of tee areas, golfers of all skill levels will find a round here challenging and enjoyable. The tips play to
6849 yards with a 127 slope rating. The second set measures 6341 with a 124 slope, and high handicappers
and average players will find the gold tees score-able at 5757 with a 119 slope for men and a 128 slope rating
for women. Color coded flags indicate the day's pin placement and palm tress on either side of the fairways indicate the 150 yard area. Sprinkler heads are also measured to the center of the green.
Golfers choosing a round at Palm Valley will be getting good value for their buck, with prime prices including cart
at around $100. Enjoy the plentiful palms and gorgeous mountain views, and save a few bucks to play at the tables...
