Las Vegas golf course review
Spanish Trail Country Club is now a semi-private facility that features limited public play - with members having booking priority. This gorgeous 27-hole course features 3 distinctive
nines that meander through an upscale residential community. Guests and members are treated to manicured conditioning with outstanding landscaping that features several
cascading waterfalls.
The Clubhouse features a restaurant and bar with banquet and outing facilities plus a well stocked pro shop. There also are spacious and comfortable locker rooms with showers
. Practice facilities include a targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker plus putting green. Stacks of practice balls are complimentary to members and fee paying
guests. The photos in this review are of the Lakes and Canyon nines.
There are 4 sets of tees designed to provide opportunities for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a round here. The tips measure 7116 from the tips of the Lakes/Canyons yards and
play to a slope of 131. Alternate sets measure 6524 yards/126 slope, 6017 yards with a 121 slope and 5705 yards with a slope of 124 for ladies hitting from the forward tees. There
is a mixed Blue/White set as well, that plays to 6735 yards/128 slope. 100, 150 and 200 yard markers are posted on the fairways and sprinkler heads are measured to the front,
middle and center of the greens. There are no pin placements markers.
The Lakes nines features extensive mounding on the sides of the fairways, and deep sand bunkers usually protect the mildly undulating green complexes. The Canyon nine has a
much gentler terrain and the rough is dormant during the cooler months, presenting a nice two toned effect. Both nines are tree-lined, parkland type layouts with spectacular
mountain views. The sunrise nine plays from 3426 to 2604 yards
The slope ratings indicate that Spanish Trail is a very playable layout. Golfers will encounter a good variety of holes with some holes featuring ample landing zones while others are
tightly flanked by water, trees or residential properties. Many of the greens have surrounding mounding or collection areas (and plentiful bunkers) that create challenging up and
down opportunities. The par threes are very strong, with water often in play. A good tip – stay out of the Bermuda rough…it can be quite penal both greenside and along the fairways.
Spanish Trail presents the public with a wonderful opportunity to enjoy private country club conditioning and amenities, and is a good value for the area and highly recommended by
this website! For more info, visit our page for the course with direct link to their website by clicking here.
